Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Divide the ground beef into 4-ounce portions and gently form loose balls without overworking. Cook the smoked turkey bacon until crispy. Prepare plant-based cheese slices and slice lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to have all toppings ready.
  2. Heat Your Griddle or Skillet: Place a heavy skillet or cast iron griddle over medium-high heat and allow it to become very hot to ensure a crispy crust.
  3. Smash the Patties: Place a beef ball on the hot surface and press down firmly and quickly with a spatula or burger press to flatten as thin as possible without tearing. Hold for about 20 seconds to set the crust.
