Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef blend
  • 4 slices smoked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup plant-based dairy (cheese)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste (natural)
  • 2 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tsp natural gelling agent
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onion and Garlic: Finely chop the onion and garlic, then sauté them lightly in a splash of olive oil over medium heat until soft and fragrant. This step brings out their sweetness and adds depth to the meatloaf flavor.
  2. Cook the Smoked Turkey Bacon: Chop the smoked turkey bacon into small pieces and cook in a pan until crispy but not burnt. This smoky addition will infuse the entire loaf with amazing aroma and taste.
  3. Mix the Meatloaf Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef blend, sautéed onion and garlic, crispy smoked turkey bacon, bread crumbs, plant-based dairy (cheese), eggs, tomato paste (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar, fresh parsley, fresh basil, salt, pepper, and natural gelling agent. Mix gently but thoroughly to blend everything evenly without overworking the mixture.
  4. Shape and Bake: Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it by hand on a lined baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the edges are golden brown.
  5. Rest and Serve: Allow the Italian Meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes out of the oven, letting the juices redistribute for a moist and tender bite. Slice and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature ingredients to help the mixture bind better and cook evenly.
  • Do not overmix the meat to keep the texture light and tender.
  • Let the meatloaf rest after baking to retain juicy slices that do not crumble.
  • Test the seasoning by cooking a small patty before assembling the full loaf, adjusting salt and spices as needed.
  • Choose fresh basil and parsley for vibrant flavor rather than dried herbs.
