Description

Crispy Cheesy Beef Taquitos offer a bold, crunchy snack or meal bursting with seasoned ground beef, melted plant-based cheese, and smoky spices. These rolled tortillas deliver a crispy texture and rich, customizable flavors, perfect for an easy appetizer, snack, or satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Assembly

  • 1012 corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup plant-based cheese (melted inside)
  • Olive oil or cooking spray, for crisping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Filling: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat, then stir in smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), salt, and black pepper. Allow the seasoning to blend well with the meat, creating a rich, flavorful filling.
  2. Assemble the Taquitos: Lay out the tortillas and spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture onto each one. Add a layer of plant-based cheese over the beef, then carefully roll the tortillas tightly to secure the filling inside.
  3. Crisp the Taquitos: Heat olive oil in a pan or prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray. Place the taquitos seam side down and cook until golden and crispy on all sides, and the cheese is melted inside. On the stovetop, cook 3 to 4 minutes per side; alternatively, bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15 to 20 minutes, turning once halfway.

Notes

  • Use fresh tortillas for easier rolling and better crispiness.
  • Brown the beef thoroughly before seasoning to intensify flavor.
  • Roll tortillas tightly and cook seam side down to prevent unrolling and filling leakage.
  • Use a light coating of oil or cooking spray to achieve crispiness without greasiness.
  • Best served warm when the cheese is melty and filling is hot.
