A quick, vibrant, and delicious Chicken Stir Fry loaded with fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and savory natural sauces. Perfect for a wholesome weeknight dinner with bold flavors and easy customization to suit your taste.

Ingredients

Protein

  • Skinless, boneless chicken breast or thigh: 1 lb (450 g), sliced into thin strips

Vegetables

  • Bell peppers: 1 cup, sliced (mix of colors preferred)
  • Broccoli florets: 1 cup
  • Carrots: 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger: 1 tbsp, minced
  • Green onions: 2 stalks, thinly sliced for garnish

Sauce (natural) and Seasonings

  • Vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural): 2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce (natural): 2 tbsp
  • Apple cider vinegar: 1 tbsp
  • Sesame oil: 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar or maple syrup (natural): 1 tbsp
  • Natural gelling agent: 1/4 tsp (such as pectin or agar), used sparingly to thicken sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Wash and chop all vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Slice the chicken into thin strips, and mince garlic and ginger. Having everything ready before cooking helps the stir fry come together quickly and evenly.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from pan and set aside to keep it tender and juicy.
  3. Sauté the Aromatics and Veggies: In the same pan, add additional sesame oil if needed. Add garlic and ginger, stirring until fragrant. Add carrots and broccoli first as they take longer to soften, stir-fry about 3 minutes. Then add bell peppers and cook until vegetables are bright and slightly tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in Sauce (Natural) and Chicken: In a small bowl, combine vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), soy sauce (natural), maple syrup (natural), apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of natural gelling agent. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and stir well to coat everything evenly. Return chicken to the pan and toss on medium heat until the sauce thickens and clings beautifully to the ingredients.
  5. Finish and Serve: Sprinkle thinly sliced green onions over the stir fry and serve immediately. Pair with steamed rice, quinoa, or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Prep all ingredients before cooking to keep the process smooth and fast.
  • Use high heat to sear chicken properly and keep vegetables crisp.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed to maintain texture and avoid steaming.
  • Use natural gelling agent sparingly to achieve the perfect sauce consistency without overpowering the dish.
  • Fresh garlic and ginger are essential to elevate the flavor.
