Description

Cake Pops are delightful bite-sized cakes on sticks combining moist plant-based cake crumbs with creamy plant-based cream cheese frosting, dipped in natural melting chocolate and decorated with colorful sprinkles or edible decorations. This easy, customizable recipe offers perfect portion control and festive charm, ideal for any occasion or quick indulgence.

Ingredients

Cake Pop Base

  • Plant-based cake crumbs, finely crumbled – about 3 cups
  • Plant-based cream cheese frosting (natural) – 1 cup or enough to bind crumbs

Coating and Decoration

  • Natural melting chocolate or plant-based candy coating – 2 cups, melted
  • Food coloring (natural) – as desired for coloring chocolate
  • Sprinkles and edible decorations – as desired
  • Natural gelling agent – 1 teaspoon (optional for coating stability)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Crumbs: Bake your favorite plant-based cake or use a store-bought one. Once cool, crumble the cake finely into a large bowl, making sure no big chunks remain for easy shaping.
  2. Mix with Frosting: Add enough plant-based cream cheese frosting (natural) to the crumbs to form a dough-like consistency that holds together without being too sticky.
  3. Shape the Pops: Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on a tray lined with parchment paper. Chill for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  4. Insert Sticks: Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into natural melting chocolate, then gently insert it halfway through each cake ball. This helps secure the stick in place.
  5. Dip and Decorate: Dip each pop into melted natural chocolate or candy coating, ensuring it is fully covered. Decorate immediately with sprinkles or edible decorations before coating sets.
  6. Set the Pops: Allow the coated Cake Pops to set upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand until the coating hardens completely.

Notes

  • Chill cake balls between steps to make dipping easier and cleaner.
  • Use high-quality plant-based cake and natural coatings for best flavor.
  • Tap off excess chocolate gently for a smooth finish without drips.
  • Add decorations immediately after dipping so they stick perfectly.
  • Store Cake Pops in an airtight container to preserve freshness and texture.
